Local Perspective

Cole Sisson was born and raised in Doe Bay on Orcas Island. He was homeschooled until 8th grade and graduated from OIHS in 1999. After studying Political Science at the University of Washington he moved to Vail, Colorado where he began a career in the wine industry. After sommelier stints in Seattle and Las Vegas he went to work for the Perez Cuevas family of Rioja, Spain and their historic winery, Bodegas Ontañon. He has bartended in Belgium, hitchhiked through Mozambique and few things excite him more than driving around Mexico while listening to Bob Dylan. He owns Doe Bay Wine Company with his beautiful wife, business partner and better half, Stephanie. Cole loves Mezcal, baseball, hammocks and adventures.
